professional BACKGROUND
My background in Fine Arts (Media) took me along a winding path that began in Sydney, Australia.
I considered teaching right out of college, but felt drawn to gain “real world” experience first, which included audio visual work at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, graphic and web design, and even diving into the world of Information Technology and databases with Oracle Corporation (Australia).
After relocating to Hawaii with my young family in 2008 I was ready for a “sea change”, and worked at the University of Hawaii, and Mid-Pacific Institute, enjoying being in the education environment, and then as a freelance illustrator. Upon completing my CTE Teacher Licensure at Leeward Community College, I have finally achieved my dream to empower young students to set forth on their own creative journeys.
