HTSB STANDARD #3 - LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

The teacher works with others to create environments that support individual and collaborative learning, and that encourage positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self motivation.

In Fall 2020 I created a comprehensive Classroom Management Plan in preparation for teaching in Spring 2021 for CTE course ED310A. This document has since formed the basis for my classroom management and guided me in creating a student-friendly learning environment. This is very much a “living document” that I revise and improve as I better understand my school community and effective timing and strategies to use. Students have given me feedback that our classroom feels welcoming, caring and safe.

In Fall 2021 I shared slides with my students to go over our classroom procedures and guidelines, shared my Clay Contract, Safety form, Syllabus and more.

Poster, letter home and syllabus - I included some facts about myself to get to know my students at the start of the semester, and build some connection between us. My students are interested to learn that I come from Australia. (Fall 2021)
